

Dr. Khalil received the prestigious NMT Founder's Award from NMT President, Dr. Daniel Lopez. The Founder's Award honors the people responsible for founding the New Mexico School of Mines in Socorro in 1889.

Dr. Khalil was congratulated by Indonesian Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Budi Bowoleksono. He was one of the three Indonesian students whom received the Ambassador's Award for Excellence, at Wisma Duta, Washington DC, 2014.
Dr. MUNAWAR KHALIL
Khalil received his PhD in chemistry working under Dr. Ning Liu at Petroleum Recovery Research Center (PRRC) and Dr. Michael D. Heagy at New Mexico Tech, USA in 2015. In June 2015, Khalil joined Center for Energy Science at Faculty of Engingeering, University of Malaya, Malaysia as HIR Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In September 2016, He briefly worked as Research Fellow at Centre for Research in Nanotechnology and Catalysis (NANOCAT), University of Malaya before joining Department of Chemistry, UI as lecturer in November 2016. His research interests include design and characterization of advanced multifunctional nanomaterials, heterogeneous catalysis, electrochemistry, and renewable energy.
